Fantastic fan easy fix

FF in bedroom just quit working yesterday.

Fooled around with control knobs, fuse holder.. nothing. Went up on roof and took apart switch that's actuated when you open the vent. Nothing. Difficult to verify power as the negative doesn't provide a place to test.

Then, suddenly, today I wiggled the fuse and voila, fired right up. I'd wiggled it several times before with no luck. Buttoned 'er all up and it's running.

I'm not sure if it was simply the fuse or the switch.. but it's working. Nice when you don't have big repair/replace jobs. I wasn't looking forward to digging up all that caulk.

I'll wait.

I had a Fantastic Fan quit working in my previous RV. The problem was the switch that disconnected when the cover shuts.

many times the fuse holder will corrode and the points will not allow the power to complete the circuit. just like the connections will come loose and the fan will stop

Interesting. Had the same problem in my Fantastic Fan last week. It quit, I checked the fuse and it was OK. Started tracing power with multimeter and the fuse holder was bad. Replaced fuse holder and all is well again. Never have seen a fuse holder go bad before.

I've heard they are. I really need that fan to remove cooking odors the range hood doesn't get.

Glad your problem was an easy fix for you. FYI the people at Fantastic Fan are excellent - they are a terrific company to deal with.
