Flat Leaf Springs- Replacement Required?

Please see attached image.

I have noticed this at the beginning of last camping season and I ran it like this for a little over 800 miles since I noticed it. I am due for other maintenance and would like your opinion on whether or not I should add new leaf spring packs to the to-do list.

This is on a 2015 Eclipse Attitude 32SAG Toy Hauler w/ Lippert 6,000lb axles. I am not sure what springs to replace them with if I go that route.

Call Lippert or Dexter and ask some questions. Maybe TSSB needs some info also 6K axles on a 14K RV? Sounds like an issue to me and maybe a recall with upgraded axles.

Here is a link to standard axles from Dexter. I know you have Lippett, but there should be direct replacement from Dexter.Springs

Did you measure the spring as it sits in photo one?
Place a straight edge across spring to get how much arc

Okay I got the wheels off and dropped the axle.

the springs have the following stamp.

I had to run it through some filters to try and read the label better.
Now i'm off to tryout my google-foo

It looks like you have UNA-221 springs. You might find that number stamped on the thin tag wrapped around the spring pack. Spring

Information on photo of tag is what I was looking for. It didn't do much good for me anyway at Lippert's website. They don't list the part number.

But what are the axels themselves rated at? They maybe the same as the springs.

Oh yea- I have the axle info - that was easy to find. As stated in the orginal post they are 6k

Its the leaf springs that I cannot find any specs on ... I am in the middle of getting the trailer on jack-stands now so I can get the wheels off for a better look.

As a previous poster said, they look like Dexter axles.

Yes I will look into adding a leaf.

See that slight reverse bend at the ends of the next shorter leaf? Springs are spent.

Have you located the axle numbers? The information should be on the right (curb side) end of axles. Don't go by spec sheets.

Springs do wear out but I see no breaks in them.
There are shops that can tell you for sure. I'm one one of them.

If there are no cracks in the any old the leaves, I would not condemn the hole pack. Take it to a pro, they can re-curve them and add a leaf. MUCH CHEAPER !

If you have flattened out those leaves, you might be overloading the tires !

Yes I will look into adding a leaf.

For the tires I am running XPS ribs - they are rock solid tires in my opinion and work great!

Had three of the four original factory tires blow in the first 400 miles of owning the trailer.
