Fridge Cold Only When On Electric

I have an old dometic 3804 fridge. We are travelling with it . I notice when we are at camp, plugged in the fridge gets good and cold,the cooling plates in the fridge will start to ice up, but when we travel or dry camp, the fridge is a lot warmer, and the plates sweat, never ice up. The freezer is fine both ways tho. Any idea whats going on here??

    Also take the orfice out as soak in alcohol for an hour or two. Do NOT try to clean with wire or pin.

    Good Idea. Thanks, Im on the road now so that will have to wait till I get home. I cant take the top off, cause its an airstream and the aluminum cover is riveted on. Thanks Again

    Turn everything off
    When cold, use compressed air up the chimney, from the burner at bottom
    wear a dust mask, afterwards get the vacuum cleaner and clean the area

    Ive done that. I think I need to clean the chimney if anything, because rust constantly falls although the flame remains strong. Any ideas how to clean chimney??

    May be as simple as blowing the rust off of the top of the gas burner.

    You need to clean the burner. It is not all that hard. You can also take it to an RV $hop.
