Fridge on the Fritz

In order:

Verify 12+ VDC to the terminals accessible from the outside refrigerator compartment door. The PC board runs on 12 VDC as do the ignitor and gas valve.

Have someone turn it on (set to gas) and tell us how far into the cycle you get:

Hear clicking of ignitor
Hear/feel gas valve openging
Smell gas or see flame
Flame stays lit

Since you are in SW Michigan, you are not far from Shipshewana, Indiana. Give Glenn Miller a call at National Refrigeration at 260-768-7059. You will not be disappointed. He will troubleshoot your fridge and fix it and he doesn't charge an arm and a leg. He's an Amish man, very honest, etc. He bought the business from Leon Hershberger and has relocated on SR120 north of Shipshewana about 1 1/4 miles. It's on a curve, new building. . . you can't miss it.

He's troubleshooted mine a few weeks ago. Spent 45 minutes on it and didn't charge me. He couldn't fix it, but it wasn't the fridge. . . it was an electrical problem at the outlet. A friend in the campground (an electrical engineer) fixed it. That same friend had to run over to Shipshewana the next week and have Glenn change out the cooling unit in his fridge for $1100. Running great now, but his boiler had ruptured.

He will fix you up for sure.

Has It been sitting idle since covid 19 started
The gas jet orfice is clogged, turn off the LP
And blow the dust & spider webs out of the burner, THE flow tube, and the Orfice

Did you check the fuses on circuit board?
Did you smell gas?
Make and model of refer?
Step back and take a deep breath for tonight!

Did not hear the ignitor, but have tried all day to get the fridge up & running without success. Should I unplug the electrical to let it reset? Thanks for your help BTW.

Do you hear the ignitor clicking?
Did you try the refer a couple times to insure it has propane?

Yep, gas has good flow the the range. Still fridge will not turn on.

Light your stove top to insure good flow of propane.
