Fridge vent cover issue

Backing into my driveway this afternoon, I shattered my fridge vent cover on a low branch. (Didn't do the branch much good, either...) Looking at the Camco universal @ CW. It seems to be much longer than mine, and may end up covering my greywater vent stack. (I'm assuming that's what that is...) Does anyone know if it would be okay to cover, or would I be better off looking at OEM?
Thanks
  • Being you have the off cover...Take a flashlight and look down inside. Mine had more junk than I was happy with. I took a lawn blower and blew junk down and vacuumed it up below. I wonder how so much junk actually got down there and with a screen protecting it in the first place??
  • Done! Tossed my son's plastic skateboard ramp up there. Fits over the entire cover. Thanks for the help, folks!
  • Yes......

Water from any source can cause damage (wood rot, electric short etc.)
  • Just got off the phone with CW; looks like they may have the OE piece. I'll double check bolt spacing and LOA before I make the 30 mile (one way) trip tomorrow. Meantime, should I cover the exposed part of the vent screen? There is a chance of showers tonight...
  • I'm not a fan of blocking/obstructing any vents...........but you may need to go with the universal vent due to lack of OEM.

I would check availability on Brand/model specific vent cover first.
  • I installed the camco one a few years ago and it fit fine. Has mounting holes marked on it so it fits for your fridge
