Gas grill.

I currently have webber q100. Doesn't get hot enough. Any recommendation on how to fix it or what to replace it with. Tks
  • What I did is took the brass orifice out and made the hole a little larger with a cutting torch tip cleaner, works great now and really heats up my cast iron grill for cooking breakfast...

Not sure what orifice you are talking about... How about a pic?

We have been using the COLEMAN ROADTRIP two burner portable grill over the past few years in our OFF-ROAD POPUP setup and it works great with the different grills you can use.

For breakfast we use this full size grill that sits over both burners.. gets real hot using the two burners... Also neat to have different heat controls for each side.

Making me hungry now just yapping about it haha...

I think the WEBER series lid closes off better then the Coleman Roadtrip but we really like the way we can tote our Coleman unit with the roll around bag and love all of the different accessories available to use with it. Cooked up a many of meals using it...

We still run ours from the 1LB propane canisters.

  • Our Q100 goes through regulators all
the time. Might want to check it. Weber will send you a replacement free.
  • It's an easy fix! You have one bolt that holds the burner in, remove burner which I clean with a wire brush and run a rag in the burner intake hole. You now have access to the orifice. I use a 3/8 drive socket and remove the orifice, be care not to lose it. I then clean the orifice and the area inside the regulator with a Q-tip or two which gets an oil like residue from the LP which is what plugs up the hole in the orifice restricting gas flow. Reassemble and good to go. Usually once a year!
  • As far as replacements go, I can recommend the Olympian (Camco) 5000 series stainless.. I've used it about a dozen times so far... no complaints..
  • I'm lazy. I'd take the whole shootin' match into my local propane distributor and let one of their mechanics use a precision finger drill to enlarge the orifice. They'll know where it is, how to get at it and have the correct larger size finger drill to get the job done. Bet it takes less time than going to Home Despot and rooting up torch cleaners.

I love mine. Works great everytime I use it.
  • Thanks for all suggestions I solved the problem by enlarging the hole that allows gas flow to the burner. (The orffis) sp
