Generator question

The last time I had this problem was almost 10 years ago when we had a beach front site in Florida. Blamed the salt air on it because it worked a couple months later while checking it. I took the MH out on salty roads (300 miles)after a snowstorm in November...happened again.
The generator runs great, the AC, TV, microwave and outlets do not. I have checked all fuses, breakers on generator and inside MH....all are good and also the converter is humming. This is a Coachmen Mirada with a 45 w converter. Can anyone help me in troubleshooting this problem.

Your rig likely has an automatic transfer switch which is used to select shore power vs generator. Sounds like it's stuck on shore power. Suggest you use forum search feature and look for posts on how to "un-stick".

Everything works on shore power, nothing works on generator power. I've had this MH for 12 years and haven't heard anything about a changeover switch. I haven't noticed the converter humming with gen on. To late to run now, will check in the morning to see if humming with the gen on and let you know.

If your converter is humming when you operate your generator that may indicate that your generator is producing AC. If microwave and some outlets aren't working then chances are a ground fault circuit breaker has tripped - they get flaky as they age. Many rigs have at least two ground faults often located in kitchen and bathroom areas.

Hope this helps.

Does the shore-power need to be plugged into an outlet on the generator inside the cord storage compartment?

Otherwise; the changeover switch may be sticking.
