This is a popular topic on the Jayco forum, since a lot of (all?) new Jaycos are coming with the Girard Tankless Water Heater.
Assuming you have gas and the lines have cleared (I run the stove a bit), then...
First thing to figure out is whether it's Gen I, II or III. Its likely Gen II or III. Gen I and II have a dial that controls water temperature. Gen III has a digital panel inside.
My Gen II stops heating from time to time. Annoying. To get my Gen II to restart, is a two step process: power off the unit (red switch outside) and press the small black reset button on the white cylinder, left side and back a bit. Google for a video. The reset button isn't documented.
Gen III people are saying that the most common problem is a sticking solenoid. You literally rap it with a hammer. Since I don't have a Gen III I don't know where that solenoid is.
