heart inverter noise

I have a 1999 coach that came with the heart inverter. It has worked well all these years. Lately the cooling fan has been coming on even when no load is on the batteries. I recently installed 4 new house batteries. Is my inverter going to fail, or, is there a battery problem??
  • thanks for that link
    blow out the dust first
    then wash the circuit board
  • Hi I recently replaced all my Trojan T-105 batteries and thought the HEART Inverter/converter wasn't working right. I bought a new one on EBay for $300 and then I found out that the Heart was working correctly. The batteries were below voltage and I Have an Echo Charger hooked up to my engine batteries and they were also discharged.
After I had used an extra charger and got the batteries up to over 10 volts the Heart charger took over and all is fine. Heart is warm and fan kicks on once in awhile. My coach and Heart Freedom 10 is 18 years old. Never had a problem with it before. New one is sitting in my shop.
Good luck and hope you get it figured out. Love mechanical stuff. Hate electrical problems.

  • Invert honorable duster spray can. Nuance trigger to allow droplets to gather on tip of straw then fall. Droplets could freeze Monkey's Brass Family Jewels.
  • I have canned air
    i use on PC's

have not seen the circuit board wash
used too keep some canned 'Freeze' for cooling and testing transistors and chips that act up when hot
  • They used to sell pressurized circuit board "wash". Or has that been ERA'd in to extinction?
  • blow out the dust

disconnect the batteries and turn off shore power/generator
remove the cover from the inverter and use compressed air to blow out all the dust

it might need nothing more than a good cleaning

then see if it still acts the same way, the old 'Heart' inverters are great pieces of equipment
