Heat will not shut off. (Update)

Neither gas or heat pump will shut off when the thermostat switch is in the respective position no matter what the set point is. The gas does not run when in heat pump is source nor does the heat pump run when the source is gas.

Thermostat is RVP 8530-339

I am assuming that the problem is with the thermostat. The temp indications on the thermostat for set points and room temperature seem to be reading correctly. Also the A/C functions as expected.

I tried to update this previously, but apparently something the post edit did not go through.

The Tsat fan was in auto while problem was in progress.

Later that same day, I wanted to test the system to see how it would perform during the night. I could not reproduce the observations I saw the previous night. Everything worked as expected. So, if it is not broken, do not try to fix it.

The LP furnace WILL run when in HP mode if the set temp is more than 5 degrees from the temp of the RV. Your RV is at 60 degrees, you put in HP mode at 66 or higher. BOTH the HP and furnace will run. In FURNACE only mode, the HP will never run. You are stating that when you set at either HP or furnace, either will never shut OFF when the set temp is reached and will heat the RV until you sweat? But it functions in COOL mode OK? Do you have the HP mode fan in the AUTO position when running in HP mode? If not, then when it reaches temp the HP heat side will shut down but the fan will continue to run. Doug
