Thanks everyone. Keep the ideas coming. Yes, I have tried goo be gone. No luck. I have some 3M adhesive remover and I will try that. If not, then acetone followed with a wash.
It seems like the edge of the static cling baked in the sun and that is the portion that I had to remove with razor blade and I'd came off crispy and flakes. Once I reached the color portion of the cling, it pulled right off. The gel coat has faded slightly but am hoping that exposure to sun will even that out eventually.
