How To Remove Glue

When I bought my TV used, it had stickers all over the back. Hated it! Bought Turtle Wax sticker and glue remover. Worked great, and didn't damage the finish at all. Any brand will do, Turtle wax is what they had. DON'T use brake fluid, that's just stupid and will destroy the finish. WD-40 works OK.

I wouldn't spray, but rather soak, and not on the surface, but around the edges. Then try lifting/peeling/rubbing it off, from the edge, while it's still wet.

There could be some layer of the original material left, besides the glue, so this is probably what you see. Things like polyethylene are resistant to solvents. Good news is, nothing stands test of time and UV. After a year-two in a hot sun it will lose strength and should be easier to peel.

Ah ha ! Goof off at BiMart, $2.29 Sprayed it on, left for 15 min, then again for 30 minutes. Not even a hint of melting that glue.
Forget the $15.95 can of 3m ad remover. Anymore I'm not sure its adhesive I'm trying to remove. But I can feel it, and its something left around the whole outside edge of that decal.

Napa said 3m adhesive remover will outdo both goo gone and goof off. But they didn't have any, will have a can Sat morning,.....@ $15.95. I mite buy it, mite not. The detailer didn't care to try the job after telling him all I had tried.

Stop inhaling acetone, destroying rubber gloves and getting calluses on your fingertips. Get one of those sticker removers like Goof Off or Goo Gone. Goof only costs 3 bucks.

I mite have to go to a commercial who has one. I played w/ it a bit this morning. I tried gas first, (joke) then acetone again, this time for 20 minutes just to make sure, (joke) then some shower wall cleaner, (joke) rubbing compound (joke) and even some Draino :), anything I had in the shed, not including oven cleaner, dint have any.
I haven't spent any money yet. Oh, I even got a green like brillo pad, and it wouldn't even scratch it ! Whatever it is, is as hard as concrete. There is a commercial detailer not far from here, I'll go talk to him before buying anything expensive that I almost know now won't cut it. I'll be back.

Suggested earlier oven cleaner Easy-Off would be the last thing to try. Yes, it removes almost anything. It also makes a lot of fumes that are either chlorine or sulfuric acid, really bad stuff, your throat would feel it immediately. Wearing gloves with this thing is a must, it's very damaging to skin.

I could use Goof Off in a big kitchen or a room if I had to, but Easy-Off I would only use in the open air, in short strikes, trying not to breath at all at that moment. Or wear a gas mask. There is a fume-less version as well, which must be either not the same stuff (= not same effect) or not really fume-less.

Really ?? Never heard of that. I've eyeballed my side grinder several times, really tempting !! I know the gel coat will only take so much, so I'm not wanting to get stupid just yet.

I had some Velcro glue residue stuck on the metal refrigerator. DH said use WD-40 and then some Windex. Looks perfect and it's something we always carry with us.
