Sliced me, inserted tubing in 2 places guided by x-ray. Pressed buttons and exorcised the demons out of atrium heart muscle. Woke me every 2 hours thereafter like proper dungeon keepers for ritual blood sucking, tube pumping, and "Who Should We Notify". I locked the door. They went ballistic. Like Magic! Discharged! First time heart is in sinus rhythm in 16-months. I felt like I went to Heaven until I saw this

Ohhhhhhhh

If I didn't have bad luck

I'd have no luck atall...

All hotels full last night. Reached the friendly parking lot of a gas station south of Ensenada - wish I had Quicksilver and not a midget toad. A veritable Festival of Pain. Tonight 200 miles further on. In a hotel room atop a bed with 178 springs - Lie back and count 'em.

"Builds Character" as my uncle Chick used to say.

Got a sick Megawatt from Denver to autopsy.

Aieeee. Don't guess! Instrumentation! Tests. Verification. My labs showed a high normal magnesium test so now treating alternate days.

But medical voodoo is far too similar to RV tech voodoo. Rote. Book educated. Little if any hands-on or field experience. This leads to errors. In Rx throw medications at the problem. In RV, change stuff until one or the other happens: The problem gets fixed. The rig gets sold.

Diagnostics is key. This separates the wanna-be's from the truly talented*. As an example when a "Hamster" makes a diagnostic comment on this board I read and digest it carefully. Same exact attention given to novices who document devices and symptoms then take the time to fully list them.

*I don't do A/C, heaters, absorbsion refrigerators, suspension, brakes, roof materials, hitches, or quickeeslipee electric steps, except for comments. Oh I also don't do windows or floors.

Yeah, too many docs know zippo about mineral imbalances or the intricate web of dependent relationships between different vitamins and minerals. Many veterinarians know much more about symptoms of mineral deficiencies than most MDs, because most of the research is done in the field of animal husbandry. I've been taking amino acid chelate multi-mineral supplements (made under patented Albion Labs processes) for about 20 years now.

Good thing they didn't do a whole transplant, we might not be able to absorb the totality of your posts. (just kidding of course).
Glad to hear you have the Dr's in check, are discharged, and are heading home. Hope those windshield wipers are newer and in good shape. You may have need for them on the trip home. Global warming is extending these weather events, IMO. It is definitely hotter up here in the snow belt than usual.

I wanted Sharps Hospital, s9 naturally the cardiologist insisted I go to Scripp's on H Street. They poked around inside until they eliminated two definite sources of arrhythmia and one suspicious source. I had been given an IV to "relax me" and several numbing shots. But I remember the surgeon saying to the anesthesiologist "We have to put him under and perform a xxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx incision and secondary entrance for another probe"

Their psychotic insistence of waking a patient up every 2 hours, drove me nuts, I was cat-napping and to show the rhyme and reason for my observation I slept solid 6PM to 9:30AM in that 177 spring hotel bed. I just woke up. Heart is in rhythm and do I ever feel good.

My home is Michoacan. But for me it is FIVE hard days drive and most of my Social Security Check to reach merely the Arizona border. My HMO is in California so that means closest is the San Diego area. Knowing I had my heart and other correctable health issues like cataracts and a bone transplant I moved "temporarily" to mid Baja California. Using 2 thousand dollars worth of Rock Auto parts and trading LED lighting for car repair I have rebuilt the toad. My rent, housekeeping service, laundry, water and electricity amount to LESS than 200 dollars per month.

I became an EMT 2 which means Paramedic in 1985. Then I started USC study of pharmacology. The GP doctor came around and insisted I had AFIB and wanted to put me on rat poison. "Afib with a badycardia pulse rate of 37 and BP of 105/52? Please do the world a favor and do not elect to become a specialist". She stormed out. That evening I locked the door. They of course unlocked it.

"We agree to disagree" was my final parting shot. So I was discharged early (as possible?) Lie too many EEs, too many MDs go through life operating 100% by rote teaching. AMA and JMA automatons. They do not think. Then there are truly outstanding MDs and specialists cardiologists, internal medicine MDs etc. The surgeon who worked on me was fabulous. He knew his stuff. But when the cardiologist told me a magnesium labs of .7 "couldn't possibly play a contributory role in atrial fibrillation" I knew the game was up. DING! NEXT! Rote Alert

This wasn't RV Tech oriented BUT...

The advice I do offer about batteries and alternators isn't rote. It's MEE grade in places but much more than book teaching. It is university grade knowledge tempered severely by reality. Rude shocks against chemical and electrical conventional ROTE. Rote! God how I despise that word.

I said many years ago on this forum I was grumpy and would have ended up handcuffed by the SWAT squad if I had "joined an engineering team". So let's end this thread please and get back to RV tech. I no longer stumble around exhausted so maybe I can contribute better ๐Ÿ™‚

Wow, soneone deleted my long, heartfelt post to Mex, previously at the top of this page, presumeably because they did not like his and my politics. That is beyond tacky.

(Apparently the mod did not read closely enough, or they would have seen my post was even less political and divisive than Mex's.)

Mexico + Plans To Do RV Parks actually means Boondocking the whole time. You done gonna get management of energy all right.

Glad you are on the move again MEX - Stay safe heading for the home front with the Bad Storm looming down that way.

I have forgotten which two towns we need to be looking at. All I remember is you have one on the Coast and one inland haha...

The Tracks sure have Mexico BAJA covered pretty good with AZ and NM going to see some of this as well as everything passes over Sonora.

Pass along your two home towns again. I need to put these in a file here haha...

Safe travels Mr Mex...

Hang in there, Mex! Take it real easy on the drive south -- that looks like a nice wet little hurricane coming right at you. The latest word from the National Hurricane Center makes it seem as though it will not become a really big storm, but stranger things have happened -- that pool of hot water south of Cabo is like rocket fuel.

What worries you? Your health? The state of the country?

The link pointed to a storm warning.

Mex, I'm glad you were discharged quickly. Hospitals are like war zones: get in, get out, count your fingers and toes.

Good to hear from ya. I'm glad the Megawatt finally got to where it was suppose to be. I hope the rest of the junk doesn't clutter up the place but look in the phone card holder if you see some headphone along the way.
