I've a issue with my Colman Mach,when I run the slider back and forth the AC will kick on with a itg

I've a issue with my Colman Mach,when I run the slider back and forth the AC will kick on with a click but want stay on you can do this several times but again kicks right off and will not come on on its own.The air is till cold just the kick on and staying on us  the promblem is 6 wires 12v any ideas are suggestions ,I tried to replace it with another one  but it says u have to have the same kind?It's getting hot in Texas so any help will be much appericated
