is there a good LED for 921 bulb in range hood?

I have the below Ventline range hood. Is there an LED replacement for the 921 that can stand up to the high heat environment of a 3 burner cook top?

Well, I went ahead and installed the bulb that I bought from Amazon. Yes it does have only 1 contact per side. I don't think it will be a problem though. The LED puts out more light onto the cook top, but with the cover reinstalled on the hood the color of the light is about the same as with the incandescent bulb.

The 1 thing that became very apparent with the 921 LED is that the plug on the bottom of the LED bulb is thicker than the same on the 921 incandescent bulb.

By that I mean that where the 921 incandescent fit snuggly but was easy to remove and insert with 1 hand, the 921 LED took 2 hands and quite a lot of effort to insert into the socket.

Don't remember now, but I think my removed old bulbs also had one contact per side. Try moving the bulb contact to the side a little. The current is low, it's not important to have an ideal contact - any contact will do. As long as the fitting is tight, you're OK. They often make it too much tight, a lot of force is needed to push it into socket.

I have a fixture that has the pictured bulbs & I have to wiggle them around to get good contact. As soon as I put on the globe one of the lights will go out! LOL
Maybe I need a better sockets in my fixture (above table)

ECO-LED are extremely well made and do not burn out due to 12v fluctuations.

I replaced our 921 range hood bulb with a 24-5050 bulb from eBay, about 3 years ago. It is still working fine. Don't remember the exact price but probably about $2.

x2. Total 5 minutes a day maybe. Not worth it. The same reason why I left my overhead light in bedroom (the one that is right above the pillows) with the old bulbs, since I don't read in a bed.

My fridge's light isn't burnt out. It's not like the fridge is left open for 20+ minutes at a time. For the number of times that the door is opened per day, and the amount of time the light is on per opening - I decided that the return on investment of replacing it with an LED wasn't there. When the bulb eventually burns out I'll replace it with the same bulb, when I get around to it - maybe after several months.

Heat is not a big issue, but LED size is.

I used this LED.

The problem is - in my particular hood the "disc" of LED goes a fraction of inch beyond the cut-out in the hood. Your cut-out might be different, otherwise you'll need to move the original socket a little. I'm not driving around much, so I simply pulled the socket out of the hood and let it sit on the matte cover.

Note that the LED should be about 1.5W and 150 lumen - not 300 lumen - if you want it to be an equivalent to the old 10W bulb. The one in the last post before mine is 300 lumen, equivalent to 20W bulb that you have in the ceiling fixtures. If you want it brighter than original hood light - then fine.

You may go for a flat disc like mine, or a "cob" like some other mentioned here. Cob is nicer when you want it shining to the sides like in wall scones, but in the hood the cob sitting in the cut-out and shining down won't be any better than flat disc.

I had enough flat space to use a 36 - 5050 LED stick-on flat panel array. It hasn't come loose yet.

Lost count of the number of 921 replacement LED bulbs we've tried (from eBay and Amazon). For the money ($24.99 for 20 bulbs), these are awesome. Each bulb has 68 LEDs. They're warm white (not blue or white), similar in brightness to the original incandescent 921 bulb, and very efficient (175ma vs. approx. 1200ma for a standard 921 bulb).

Any, yes, we have one mounted in our range hood that's still working just fine.

I recently changed to the led suggested by Learjet. Works great. I like being able to adjust the angle of the light. It is very bright.

GS - You can get the Festoon Bulb for your Fridge at the auto supply. Probably not LED, but you'll get two for less than one at Norcold price.

I think there are two common lengths of automotive festoon's so bring yours to match.
