Keystone Bullet Atwood Furnace removal

I have a Keystone Bullet trailer with an Atwood Furnace, model 8531 IV DCLP L/D. It is located and only accessible from inside, beneath the refrigerator. Can anyone provide details on how to remove the furnace so it can be checked out? All other gas appliances work. Trailer hooked up to AC. AC comes on. Furnace blower comes on. Unit has single spark 3 times, then shuts off. Keystone offers no assistance providing removal info.

Update: After conferring with Atwood, I took my trailer to RV Outlet Mall in Georgetown TX. Unlike Crestview RV, they pulled and tested the furnace. They found and replaced a bad board. Working fine now.
Kudos to Atwood, and RV Outlet Mall.

After working on line with Atwood, I decided to take the trailer in to an authorized servicer. They "may" assist once the problem is diagnosed. Either way it will be repaired by someone with the knowledge and equipment. Thanx for everyones thoughts.

I have one similar to this and mine comes out the outsie access door. If you look carefully you will see it must be lifted up and out. You (obviously) must disconnect the gas line and it can be bent out of the way. Mine has a couple of screws put in at an angle that is supposed to hold the furnace in place.

Mine sits on two pieces of drywall sitting on edge...a terrible way to do it but cheap and heat resistant.

If you can say what is wrong I might be able to give you an idea what you can do to fix it. You can trouble shoot this guy yourself. Do you still have the installation manual for it? You might not have to take it out.

I have to take mine out and redesign it's mounting and get it squarely over the opening for the ducting.

You do not understand. This particular model has NO OUTSIDE door. It is installed from the inside and must be pulled for any service work or diagnosis. Doug

After working with Atwood, I have taken my trailer in to one of their authorized servicers. They will diagnose. Based on their findings Atwood may be able to assit me with part(s). Either way, it will get repaired.

Correct. The problem is that it sits below the access removal area. Gas line runs in front. There is no obvious signs of how it is secured to the short ledge it sits on top of. It is a very poor installation for servicing.

Most things in rv's have "poor installation for servicing." ๐Ÿ™‚

There are tabs on the edge of the furnace that will have screws around the bottom and where it butts against the outside wall. Two on each side on the bottom and two on each side against the wall. The manufacturer may have only used part of the tabs when they installed it. Look here for a picture:

Look for an owners manual online for the Atwood furnace model that you have. There should be troubleshooting tips as it sounds like the same problem we had when the ignitor just needed to be adjusted to that the flame would light. You may also just have dirty connections, a critter nest, mud daubers, dirty burner etc causing the problems. There is usually an access door on the outside for this purpose. Maybe the manual will also instruct on how to remove. I think Bryant RV has the manuals online that you can view or download for free. Do a google search and it should pop right up.

AS I stated, He has the L/D model which is a specific model that has NO access from inside or outside for service or repair. You have to pull the complete furnace for repair access on your work bench. IF the OEM did not make access for removal, then you may have to remove the refer and then the wood refer cabinet floor to remove the furnace. Doug

The only exterior piece is the vent. No outside doors or anything that would make it easy to access any part of the furnace. I also blew it out from inside and outside. No improvement or change. Pretty well forces me to have to take it in to another servicer sinc eI cannot access anything to check out.

L/D means it is a cabinet model furnace. The ONLY way to work or test is to remove the complete furnace and casing. That means it should come out that inside wood or metal access vent cover. Doug
