    So, what was the problem/solution?
  • He has a 2012 Jayco. They use Atwood. The 120 element is BEHIND the water heater and accessed from Inside the RV. Doug
  • Same problem here with new tt. Atwood hwh. Interested to hear advice.
  • For more help you need to post Brand/Model & year of water heater. Different types/different problems/different resolutions.

Electric elements are typically on opposite side of LP burner
LP burner access from outside compartment
Electric element access from inside bottom area of WH tank under a protective cover

Did you happen to turn element ON without water in WH tank....if so it has burnt up

If Suburban the electric element will have it's own high/normal set of T-stats.
If high t-stat has tripped...electric won't get any power
Reset if tripped and try element.
Resets are in outside compartment under rubber covers
  • Brand and model of water heater? New Suburban models have the element access through the exterior door, Atwood model are on the back of the tank- accessed from inside. Both use standard screw in elements.
