    Ditto.
  • 0000 THHN cables. I was forced to use them 25 years ago when I came up to help a friend wire his shop. Had to tie into 600 volts then run four aught 80' to a transformer the size of a stick n brick chest freezer.

The only way I could bend the THHN was with an oversize EMT bender. Then slip conduit over the cables. Man what a fight. The owner had a titanic lathe with a 30 hp motor. Six smaller lathes 3 CNC vertical mills and a bunch of other machinery. 20Kw of metal halide lighting.

Talk about doing things the hard way (!) The business had a monthly electrical bill into the thousands of dollars.

So when the subject of "supple wire" comes around I ca really appreciate it.

Welding cable neoprene (Hypalon) does not have much cut resistance. DLO locomotive cable does have good insulation. A bit stiffer but then it is rated for two thousand volts.
  • I concur that these WindyNation cables are nice cables and lugs if you do buy the pre-lugged cables, options for different size lug holes too. What wasn't emphasized is that these cables are nice and flexible and make for much easier routing than something like 4AWG standard battery cables at auto part stores.

    x2 ... if/when I power up another trailer it'll be 48v at a minimum.
    48 is nice.

    Or larger voltage.

12v just needs too much copper.

I don't have the manual on .. or do I. HOld on I do
    Freedom XC manual DC cabling

1000 watt. Less than 1.5 Meters 2GA fuse at 150 amps
2000 watt less than 1.5 meters 00GA fuse at 250 amps

1.5 meters is five feed per the manual

I'm running 24" of 00 and 24" of 0000 The 0000 is running to each of two battery banks (about 2 feet to each bank) and the 00 from the junction of the two quad 0 runs to the inverter biggest that would fit.

    Or larger voltage.
  • Good to hear you like the cable, I'll make a mental bookmark to look for that vendor next time I'm shopping for cable

Although my idea of mid size would be 1 or 0 gauge ... 4ga is a small inverter :)
