Mini-AC

Anyone know anything about these units??? Found it on the MCG site ... Not affiliated in any way with it.

  • That's kinda what I thought. Seems every new - old? - device claims more efficiency than it can produce. Sells a bunch of them until folks figure out it ain't worth $200 bucks, then goes belly up.
  • Only suitable for extremely dry climates. Evaporative coolers can work but anything that small isn't going to help much.

I bought a much larger one and quickly found that Saskatchewan, although "dry", and although real temperature in the RV was lowered, the comfort level was worse because of increased humidity.

Not that specific model but there is one beside me
It is a combination of evaporative coolng and a small block of ice
With a fan... Actually works but not nearly as good as advertised.
In a SMALL room... it will make a small difference.

I used to have a much bigger one. It did about 10 degrees in my bedroom.
  • It's called a Swamp Cooler, but on a small portable size, been around for years.
