Nitrogen Tire Top Off Kit

I am in search of a nitrogen topping off kit that could be carried in one's vehicle that could successfully store the unused portion until needed without leaking. We just purchased our DENALI and when checking to find that nitrogen filling stations are few and far between. On several of the web sites, they mention that the CO2 kits would accomplish keeping water out, but they are designed to inflate bicycle tires.

A camper came in the store the other day asking if we had nitrogen for the tires (we do not). When I suggested that he was wasting his money and whatever benefit he was sold about nitrogen was just an OWT, he looked at me as if I were crazy.

If you're worried about moisture, get a dryer for your air compressor. Readily available at auto body shop suppliers.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HYDROGEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE MIRACLE TIRE GAS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • THE FASTER YOU GO THE MORE IT EXPANDS
  • THE MORE IT EXPANDS THE BIGGER THE TIRE GETS
  • AND THAT MEANS BETTER GAS MILEAGE! GUARANTEED
  • AND WITH SIX TIRES FILLED WITH HOT HYDROGEN MEANS AN INSTANT TWO TON WEIGHT SAVINGS!!!

This thread deserved a comic grade EULOGY. So this is it. Good Night Chet / Good Night David

One more "jumping on the band-wagon" ..:S

(The OP wasn't interested in what N2 is used for, how or why.)

Maybe, just maybe......time to shut this thread down??..:@

BTW CO2 is the worst thing to put in tires(in case anyone was considering it). As anyone who rides road bicycles, when you fix a flat and fill with a CO2 canister, tire is flat in the morning. CO2 leaks out in nothing flat.

Maybe you need a different method of fixing your flats. I use the small CO2 canisters for my mountain bike, and do not experience flat tires the next morning.

Give it up. Ain't NEVER gonna happen.

People will always give the information that they think the OP NEEDS to know.......regardless of what he asked for.

If he wants - other/more/different, or "better" - "ways to go" let him ask for same..

BTW - *many* horses were flogged on this thread.....which were/are off topic - but deserved a reply 'cause the info was flawed.

I'm sorry but your "checks" prove NOTHING.....as far as the difference between using dry nitrogen versus using dry AIR.

It has all been covered on here before.

In your situation where it is REALLY important, using nitrogen from a BIG high pressure bottle only makes sense.
For the average daily driver where a couple of pounds one way or the other makes NO appreciable difference.......one is just foolish TO PAY FOR DAY AIR.

Disagree with the above!

BEST thing since sliced bread -
but maybe not on the bicycle forums - which this isn't..:R

Actually off-road folks have been using C02 for years - DIY a system or retail set-up from suppliers such as "Powertank" (they sell Nitrogen set-ups also).
Air down for off road - air up on return to highway.

Great for topping off a low RV tire - re-fill at any home brew supplier, welding supply, etc.

Power Tank - (Note the RV uses)

Whatever rings your chimes - or rings your bike bell/s..:R

.

X2 what "Dtank" said!

Although I have a DIY system (easy!) - PowerTank doesn't seem to be hurtin' for business - but..:(..
they don't indicate any *bicycle* applications, for "babock"..:B

My background is ET bracket drag racing, On rear slicks I know the difference in checking before and after each burnout at every run and only once after the first burnout of the day. I don't care at all what you think of using N. I know the difference and have the checks to prove it. The difference in 10 lbs grip on a 140 deg track and 13 lbs. is win or lose. My tire gauges. We race at 10 lbs in the slicks

Bracket II - Super Gas for YEARS.

Results xln't - *NO* nitrogen.

Maybe you should try Helium - but you might float across the line and "break out" or your index, ROTFL
