No hot water in electric mode

I have a KZ travel trailer with a Suburban Water Heater model sw6del. On our last trip, was using the heater in electric mode for a few days. Then it stopped working in electric mode. Switched to propane and we got hot water to finish our trip. I did not have time to look at it before we returned home. Just asking for idea's of what to look for? Any ideas would be great! Thanks
  • DEL model uses DC for electric & propane functions

    But with propane working DC is present

    So issue is with AC side (or the 'DC Relay')

    Wiring diagram to help troubleshoot....Voltmeter
  • When mine died it was the water heater's heating element. It was corroded. and the Element was bad. I went to the hardware store and bought a new element.

    You will need a heating element socket and a screw driver. it's really an easy fix
  • Possibilities;
    Tripped breaker
    Bad switch on bottom left corner of water heater
    Bad thermostat/hi temp cutout switch
    Loose wire (junction box on back side of WH)
    Bad heating element
    Start tracing with a voltmeter until you find the point of no voltage (assuming you are comfortable troubleshooting 120 vac)
  • Grab a volt meter and start checking. Temp sensor packs are a common issue, as are the switch in the lower left
  • My first thought would be the electric element, cheap and easy to replace.
