Onan 3.6 KYFA LP Generator Codes
Hi everybody, I posted a while ago about a problem with my generator. It was running fine and then shut down. After asking a lot of questions and trying to figure out the issue, I have done the following:
The generator turns over, starts then shuts down. Pressed the start switch to get code and it blinked 3 and 2, 32. According to the manual this code says the problem is:
Low Cranking Speed Fault ----- Code 32
Corrective action: Clean and tighten battery connections, replace or recharge battery and/or change oil to correct viscosity.
I checked the batteries, they were toast, replaced with a good battery, checked spark plug, clean, checked air filter, OK, changed oil, put 30 W, but will change and put 15-40W according to the temperature guide.
I had the generator hooked up to a separate 100LB tank with its own regulator, just to put back to original, reconnected to the trailer propane, which is full.
If, I change the oil and put the 15-40W in and it still throws that code, What are my options?
A friend of my father's will be by on Monday to check it out, he worked at the local RV Shop. The local RV shop is good to buy from and have warranty work, but I will not pay them to work on my unit. I will contact the local Cummins in Fresno and see if they work on the units, if I bring them my 5th wheel.
I did contact Camping World, which is a hour away and they want $189.00 just to diagnose the generator.
I am open to any suggestions,
