When I first got my MH with a MicroQuiet generator, I had oil dripping from the breather. It wasn't until I changed the oil and measured the oil (1.6 Quarts) before refilling it that it stopped. The MicroQuiet/MicroLite generators are extremely difficult to check for proper level. The best time to check the oil is after it's set for several hours so that the level won't be affected by pressure in the crankcase - either positive or negative. Now that I maintain the proper level, no oil has been coming out of the air filter.

I get that on my 25 horse Kawasaki lawnmower engine as well. The bottom of the cast aluminum plenum that feeds the dual throat carb always has an oil puddle in it. I may try the modification on it in as much as the design is very similar. Never give it much thought. Never consumes a lot of oil between changes anyway and oil cost is inconsequential in reality.
