Onan model 5.5HGJAB carb fuel filter

Hello, I have an Onan model 5.5HGJAB and when i replaced the carb the new carb didn't have a fuel filter attached to the inlet of the carb. Is it recommended to put an inline filter after the fuel pump? If so how many microns?
