Only getting 8 volts from converter at battery connection

This started with AC compressor not coming on, checked all connections and there is no power going to compressor, compacitor is good but the start boost is not good (got one ordered). While trying to diagnose this problem I noticed the lights were dim. The fresh battery that was put in the camper now only has 6 volts. I checked all fuses at electric box and they are good, I am hooked to shore power (pole barn wired for camper). With the battery out the campers lights are dim and the slides will barely move. If this is my converter could it also be causing the AC compressor to not come on? I hooked a fresh battery to the camper but the AC compressor still will not start. Condenser fan and blower will work though. Thanks

KISS!
Fix the Low voltage first. Then work on the AC problem if it still exists

Glad your converter problem is solved. Got one question for your ac. You report 8.5 volts to cool wire at t-stat. What's your voltage at fan wire at t-stat?
The 8.5v seems low and I would think fan would have to have more than 8.5v to energize the fan relay inside ac unit.

Update on Convertor and AC
Replaced convertor and have 12 volts at lights and 14+ to battery. Replaced start compacitor hoping because it was bad the compressor would start. No such luck, fan comes on but no compressor. Could the thermostat if it were bad cause the compressor not coming on? I have 8.5 volts at the thermostat cool connection... Is this normal? Thanks

With 120V in and not getting 13V+ out of the converter, I would say that the converter is bad.

try deleting the period "." after the "Height=118" in the syntax.

Have you removed the cover plates to get at the 120v wire?

I'll give that a try and check the voltage on another plug.

"Good Power" means checking receptacle voltage while under load. Plug in a 1500 watt heater. What to you have?

the Air Condionior, has nothing to do with the converter having low voltage

BUT if the converter is bad and not supplying enough power to charge battery or maintain what is being used, the battery will go low

once voltage is low, the thermostat and A/C controls will NOT function correctly

replace the converter, fix your 12v problems,

then work on the A/C if it does not start working correctly
I can explain it to you.

The converter will have fuses. Mine has 3. Check to see that none of them are blown. In my MH the converter has its own circuit breaker that feeds one side of a duplex outlet. Thought the converter was bad so I bought a new one. Checked the other side of the outlet not realizing it was split and the converter breaker was tripped. Turns out converter was fine, so now I have a spare.
