Outside faucet only hot tap works

This is pretty odd. The outside tap on my Tracer 3000bhd (forest river brand) only has the hot tap working. I took apart the faucet and still the hot water tap when I turn on the pump works.

No cold water at all. There is a hex nut in behind the faucet assembly down in the collar a ways but I don't know if that would make a difference. It worked fine last year and if I have the hot tap turned off and the cold tap still without the assembly the pump kicks off. So it's not a burst line, I can't see any water anywhere and if it was broke the pump would run.

I looked under the bed and lifted the storage area to see the line and it looks fine.

Do I need to pull out that hex nut? Is it a valve back there that could be stuck?

I'm at a loss.

Thanks.

Thanks. I'll look at mine one of these days coming up and see if that's my problem too.

Thank you for the update. Good to hear you got it working.

Problem solved.

I got in behind the access and took the faucet off completely. I then ran the pump to be sure there wasn't a blockage or kink in the line somewhere and it was find.

The faucet was the problem. If you turn the faucet around and look into the line from the back, there is a small spring value. For some reason the spring valve was no longer seated properly. I'm guessing it was most likely due to the winter storage and some ice pushing it out of place. Once I pushed it back in to where it was supposed to sit and reassembled the faucet it worked great.

On a side note, as part of this process I found the direct line with a shutoff valve for winterizing the trailer. I wrongly assumed that would be at the pump and could never find it so I was winterizing the old fashioned way. (pouring a little into the tank). I won't have to do that any longer.

Ya, mine is a Prime Tracer 3000 so the same manufacturer. Your probably right, something wrong with the faucet.

Well, I'm sure they are very similar. To get to mine, I have to go into the storage under the bed. Then there is a wall panel that you can take off to gain access to the lines.

I'll rip that apart then and let you know what I find.

Hmmm. I have a Prime Time Lacross, which is a division of Forest River. This year I have the exact same problem with my outside setup. Hot water works but cold doesn't. Maybe some type of a problem with the faucet assembly that they use on them?

If you have washers on the faucet cartridge then that hex nut is the seat. Guess you have no choice but to remove the line from the faucet. Bummer!

I did take apart the tap. So, what I mean by that is I took the handle off and behind that I took out the assembly that controls the water flow.

Still no water coming out of the cold tap. If I look down the hole of the tap, there looks to be a small hex nut in the line about 1.5" down which is still part of the tap. I thought maybe that is the faulty part but I don't know for certain.

Thanks for the replies. There is no shutoff valve that could be causing it.

I will try disconnecting the supply line next. It's a plain in the back side to get to it. Fun stuff.

If there is water at the supply line then it's a faucet replacement, if there is not. Then what?

Dis-assemble the faucet, turn pump on, see if there is water coming through the line. Could be a faulty faucet cartridge.

Follow the water line back. Look for kinks or blockages. You will finally get back to where there is water and will have found the problem.

Is there a winterizing shut-off valve anywhere else that maybe isn't on?

Sounds like a faulty faucet.....

Disconnect cold water supply line at faucet...turn pump on...get water?
Is it time for your medication or mine?
