Portable toilet seal leaking

Hello all. I have a Thetford 565e Curve porta potti. I have replaced the seal between the top bowl and the bottom black tank four times in the last three years. The most recent seal replacement was 2 1/2 months ago and it is now leaking. I have taken it out and cleaned the seal and all of the plastic components on the toilet. Everything looks good; no cracks or damage to anything. After putting a small amount of water in the bowl, it slowly drains out of the bowl over the course of a few minutes. You can hear the water trickling into the tank below. The seal is a genuine Thetford part (lip seal 07101). This is ridiculous. Any ideas? TIA.
  • I will second the motion for using silicone grease on the seals.   Having had three curve toilets and having had leakage at the seal with all three, I discovered that if I used silicone grease liberally on all the seals, the problem was solved.  I replace the grease each time I empty the tank.

  • Hello, I’ve had problems with my seal too on my 5th wheel… take the seal outtake Vaseline and coat the inner part of seal that seats in the toilet, reinstall… Worked for me…

  • Mine is leaking from the fresh water tank portion. Is this your issue? I've got it in the bathtub now trying to figure out where it's leaking from. Oddly it's leaking out the bottom, but there is nothing, completely dry, black tank.

I just lubed the seal liberally with Danco silicone grease. It still leaks.
