power issue

'07,Itasca Sunrise. Returned home from camping last Sunday, everything was working good.
At home plugged into house to run fridge only, as going again soon. Fridge has been working fine for 5 days.
!! Today fridge reads no AC. Tried to restart on AC no go.
Switched to propane. Running fine on propane.
I pushed test on ground fault. !! Now it will not reset, no power at outlets. Microwave no power.
any help? thx

*update* ! got it fixed. replaced 2 GFIs.
  • OP, you need to post more info or do more troubleshooting yourself.

Not all of your home circuits are fussy GFI protected…Find a circuit that is not GFI protected and using an extension cord, connect to the RV and see what happens…

  • Remove any plugs in your outside outlet. It's also possible the outlet itself may have got water in it while something was plugged in. May even dry out and the problem go away.
  • As above check the power source. A GFCI will not reset if there is no power to it. It also will not reset if there is a true short or if it's faulty. But if there is no AC in the entire rig then your problem is further upstream from the GFCI. Check at the main breaker in the RV. Check for damage to the shore power cord. Check for power where the cord is plugged into the house.

Follow all the above advice, but first unplug everything in the trailer. Also, check the source of the trailer power (your house power)
  • As above make sure socket you’re plugged into to
Make sure you have power there.
  • You have lost 120 volts to the rig.
Reset circuit breakers in the rig. Turn off all breakers applying light pressure toward off. Then turn on main breaker if equipped, followed by each branch breaker one at a time.
GFCI receptacles will not reset without having 120 volts present.

Pushing test on the GFCI will trip the GFCI. The reset button is typically difficult to push. Push it harder. If it truly won't reset, you may have a defective GFCI, or there is truly a ground fault.
  • Did you check the power at the outlet where you're plugged into the house?
Make sure you have power to the RV before you start diagnosing the problem. I don't think a GFCI will reset unless it has power.
