PowerMax PM3-35 vs Pro/Dyn PD4635

Need to replace my old 6300 converter...it works OK but only charges at 3 amps! The Progressive Dynamics PD4635 is an upgrade the would fit right in where old converter section is, but costs $200.....the PowerMax is a deckmount that I believe can be mounted close to battery, and it is $100 delivered....has any one upgraded with a deckmount converter and was it harder to wire in???...tia

I only have 1 group 27 battery and think a 35 amp charger should be enough.
  • No just flip the breaker off. In fact both chargers would probably work together just fine (BFL is the master of doing this), but at that low charge rate, might as well just turn it off and save it.

Jim...If I leave the old one in place, do I have to disconnect anything on the old one??

X2, you can leave the existing one in place and wire in the new one close to the batteries. I did that in my "old" 5er.
