hi all, need some help tracking down a propane problem. tried to light stove and only got a very small blue flame and could only light one burner. no gas to fridg or heater. both tanks have gas and checked for leaks with suds. then put a new camco reg on and still get a small blue flame. Don`t know if both regs are bad or if something else can cause it???? thanks for any help
In addition to closing the tank valves and opening them. make sure that ALL gas devices are turned off. The flow restrictors in the system won't fully open until the entire system is up to pressure and that won't happen if any device is in the ON position.
Also, you may have oil traps in the lines that is impeding normal gas flow. Especially so if the problem varies with outside air temperature (ie: varies the viscosity).
Close both tank valves wait 5 minutes and vety slowly open the valves one at a time. Go inside and turn on one burner and try lighting it with a gas match. If it acts the same it is then quite possible you have a bad hose somewhere. Start with new hoses from tank to regulator and go from there.
I would first check and make sure both tank shut off valves were open. Then I would override the setup and put my BBQ regulator and hose on each tank an see if they work.
