From the very beginning of this thread this commercial has been playing in my head.

Thanks Mex.

Surely these parts you get from Ebay and cause you such grief can be obtained elsewhere. If you hate it so much then don't do business with them, if the price warrants the shopping at Ebay, bite the bullet and put up with the inconvenience.

And, big surprise, Ebay, like most companies, is in it for the money. The only way to get their attention is to poke them where it will hurt: in the pocketbook. Don't like the way they do business? Don't do business with them. That's the only thing that will make any kind of impact. Of course all you have to do is convince everyone else to do the same. ๐Ÿ™‚

USPS, UPS, DHL, a 1,200 mile drive. If I need anything from Kong Gong or Thailand within a 50-day period it's a crapshoot with a vast majority of orders being "Seven Out - Line Away". And a huge amount of eBray electronic components come from these two countries.

It's not that getting stuff from there isn't great.

It's when eBray declares YOUR ORDER HAS BEEN SHIPPED but it hasn't.

Indeed I have had money paid from my VISA only to find out not only hasn't been shipped as declared but four or five days later the date of purchase was advanced and the date of delivery delayed by 1-2 weeks. But eBray is careful - the original date of purchase has been wiped out.

In a letter to eBray I challenged this deception with printed out screen shots plus a copy of the VISA transaction. How can something be paid for a week before being purchased hmmmmm?

No return letter. No answer. Hee Haw! eBray!

They are after MONEY. Floating money for weeks (ya think vendors get paid right away? eBray continally has billions and billions of dollars floating amd THAT is how they make their real income money.

Tell a foreign vendor worth millions to "Straighten up their act"? Oh hell no.

Retain money for a cancellation made almost instanty? Refunds take weeks. From Santa Clara.

But YOUR ORDER HAS BEEN SHIPPED gets my goat. Yesterday I made a bad eyesight mistake purchase on Amazon and the money was never taken out of my account.

I have ran into this a lot with the policy of "we ship same day retailers". They only printed a label, it will be 2 days before it moves anywhere. The worst trick is what UPS calls Surepost which means after we kick it around a few days we will send it to USPS to do the same and you save 1$.

I HATE SUREPOST. I'm paying the retailer for delivery to my house and then without notifying me they ship Surepost. The only problem is that USPS does not deliver to my address out here in the boonies and I have to drive 10 miles and wait in line for 10 minutes to get my package. I spend more on getting my package than what the original shipping cost was! :M

China is as tricky in orders as US.
When I order technical stuff, they ship very quickly, but the shipment get stalled on US side. China Post has tracking system that beats USPS tracking hands down and don't know what is the deal, but they have very cheap rates.
Once I bought chrome shower hose. This is over 1 lb item and I won it for $2.60 with FREE SHIPPING.
Comparable hoses at Home Depot cost over $10 and I could not find chrome hose locally.
Than I order a designer jacket for DW.
$13 for design jacket sure is good price and even $6 shipping still make it a deal. I opted out $3 tracking, so the thing promptly arrived after 5 weeks.
Good thing my wife is skinny women as Chinese sizes are on low side of US sizes.
Watch and learn.

I learned the hard way on eBray to never order stuff from Hong Kong or Thailand. Stuff absolutely comes by ship and ranges 5 - 9 weeks for delivery. Some magazine wrote LAX gets 60 flights a day 747 cargo or Airbus cargo - no passengers. Incredibly strict China Post - no big boxes only bubble wrapping and thick envelopes. Same for SF and Seattle. From terminals it's by USPS or UPS.

Yeah. I got that "Your package has shipped" from a 3rd party dealer via Amazon one time, and it was over a week before it actually shipped. I knew when it actually shipped because I have UPS send me an automated email when they pick up a package for my address.

Nothing grumpy about speaking the truth. One of my pet peeves is vendors who claim a package has been shipped when it's only been pulled, packaged, and a shipping label slapped on it. Sometimes, it takes several days before the vendor takes possession of the package.

USPS tracking is notoriously bad.

I ordered something I did not need right away so did not go for rapid shipping, it showed up the next day. I paid for 2 day shipping for something I needed right away and it showed up a week later. Go figure. Jim

He..he.. I will not even say that 30-40 years ago sending packages by air was very expensive when the REAL shipment from China took 3-4 moths.
Life is getting easier and who do we blame that our kids don't want to work hard.
Years ago I struggle for couple of years to buy new Mercedes for family car.
2 months later my son comes from high school and says "my friend got exact new car for his 16th birthday"

Gotta love those rose colored 20/20 rear view glasses. ๐Ÿ™‚ Things were always so much better at some point in the past. Amazing how things improve with age. ๐Ÿ™‚ Except for that memory. LOL

I did a lot of shopping out of catalogs a 30-40 years ago and you got the package when you got it. You couldn't go "online" and check the shipping info, tracking number, or what have you. If you were in a hurry you called the company and asked, and the information you got may, or may not, have been current. Most places put it right on the order page: Takes 2-4 weeks for shipping.
