What solar controller? Many have load outputs with LVD. If your controller has a load output you may be able to use that directly, for just the 300W inverter (~30 A load).
I spoke to one of the electrical engineers at Samlex a few minutes ago and he said that as long as the charger was rated for a load greater than 500 watts, he did not see an issue.
