Remote entry question

07 Fleetwood Discovery owner.
Noticed range on remote keyfob not good. I inspected the receiver under the center console and discovered the black antenna wire hanging out of the receiver broken. Looks like it was cut/broke during assembly of the dash.
Can someone with like setup measure your black antenna wire too get the total inches.
Also, the actuator in door has a rubber dust boot falling apart. Is their a place where i can order parts?

Did look under American coach but did not see it.
Googled part # and found one on GreedBay.

Looking at the photo you can see the black antenna wire... Mines about an inch long. It was cut when the frame for the dash was installed. It still worked but had a short range.

Yes a production issue that I was aware of shortly after purchase. Just figured its time to correct. A simple fix, just needed a rough length

Fleetwood that manufactured that unit is no more. They went bankrupt and closed years ago. Somebody else bought the name but they won't be of much help.

If you know the operating frequency of the transmitter I can work it out for you. if you are near me I have a device that MIGHT measure it. (So do many hams_ beyond that I can't help much

in inches about 2775/(Operating frequency in MHZ)

Or.. twice that. Those are the only two proper lengths.

i would just splice on more wire to the antenna, and see if that fixes the problem

Keyfob OK, just short range due to the short antenna.

I recently changed the battery in my 2012 truck key fob due to it getting weak. New battery and much better range.

Did you try changing the battery in the key fob. The fob I normally use is getting weak, I have to be within 10 feet of the cab (E450 chassis) before I can unlock or lock the door. Doesn't work from the back bumper of the MH. The other 3 fobs work normally, 50-100+ feet away.

Fleetwood dealer would be the last place I'd go.
