Long story short, I applied some Eternabond to the slide side, and some of it got jammed, removing the cover and spreading the 'glue' onto the vinyl and carpet. I've since removed the Eternabond from the slide, but still have the clean-up to do inside. Any suggestions for safely removing it? I used gas on the outside and it worked well on the fiberglass, but I'm worried it will stain or discolor the vinyl, and I'm stumped on the carpeting.

Whatever you end up using, test it first in as obscure a location as possible in case it causes a visable deterioration to the material. My first suggestion would be "GOO GONE" a common product available in most big box and hardware stores. Goo goneAnd even it will suggest testing in a small area not readily visable.

If gas did a good job removing it, paint thinner should also, and would be unlikely to stain. But could easily damage either the vinyl or the carpet. Whatever you try, use a little on a Q-tip in an area not visible to check for that before you tackle the big job.

Mineral spirits, which is the main ingredient in Goo-Gone, removes most tape residue. Plus, it probably will not stain the vinyl or carpet. Try a small are first as suggested.

I have plenty of Goo Gone, it's great, I'll give that a shot

I would check with Eternabond for what they recommend.

Was going to say, I use Acetone as prep for Eternabond application, it's essentially the same thing. Will give that a try. Strangely on tape residue on outside surfaces I found that plain gas worked much better than acetone... not sure how it will react with carpet.

If you got some scrap carpet laying around it may be beneficial to try your elixir on it. I messed up some carpet once when my snake oil got down to the bottom mesh of the carpet. :S

Eternaclean (from the malkers of eternabond) will do it. Just be carefull, is really strong stull.

I used Goo Gone on the vinyl and it worked a treat. Cleaned up the floor after with some Spray 9. Still not sure what to do about the carpet, I'll try some Goo Gone on a section under the slide to test with a scrubber.
