Removing shower door

Hello, I have to replace the rubber under the shower door. Can someone please advise if I have to remove the top rail to remove the door? It is a 300RB Outback. I will try post pics in a few minutes.

  • You should be able to slide the threshold sweap out without taking the door off. If not, the little square head screw near the top, take it out andmthe plastic hinge pin slides up.

Thanks for the reply. Why is that sweap out? Simply wear out? It seems impossible to insert back where it goes.
  • Sweaps wear out. Not a big deal. On my shower door is simply slides into a slot in the bottlm piece.
Looking again it appears your door is a bit different from mine. Remove the header then.
  • What I did was give that sweep a tug and it slid right out toward the unhinged side of the door.

now just for the hey of it I tried the shower without the sweep. No drips due to the construction of the bottom of the door and shower frame.

Been running without one for a few years now.

Give that one a try and let us know how that works out.
  • google this up...just copy and paste below, should get you good info. At least worked on mine.

  • You may want to spray or wipe on some silicone on the sweep that you are trying to install. Much more difficult to install than remove.
