Replace carpet skirt on slide with something else??

Our galley slide carpet skirt sticks out about 6" and covers the gap between the slide floor and the RV floor. It is not a flush fit - the slide bottom is about 2" above the RV floor.

The carpet has gotten wet a few times due to spills and is now funky. It needs to be replaced. I don't want to put carpet there again.

Any thoughts on alternative material?

    Two reasons for that 6" overlay
    1) Cosmetic--gives a finished look
    2) Helps keep stuff/junk from getting under and into rollers/slide opening--sealing area

    That 'woven vinyl' sounds interesting.

    There's an article in Trailer Life May 2016 about a material used in the boating industry called Luxery Woven Vinyl. Looked interesting. Article was using it for a slide replacement.
