Replaced the carburetor on an Onan 5500W generator - Video
Bought a new carburetor on Amazon. Little tricky to connect the throttle linkage and return spring, but otherwise a pretty simple job, only basic tools needed. No more rough running, or quitting issues.
For those considering the task, I've put a video online so you can determine if it's a DIY task for you too.

I'll eventually disassemble the original carb, see if I can find what the problem was, clean it, and keep it for a hot spare. Definitely something that can be swapped at a campground. FWIW, Onan doesn't offer a rebuild kit. We have trips planned soon, and it's already been in the mid 80s here in FL. The dash air doesn't work well enough on a long trip, so I needed a working generator to run the roof top units.
Worth every penny, runs like new!
