My rig has two air conditioners and a 30-amp service. There is a switch above the microwave in a compartment that will allow me to Select the front OR the back A/C. You might check your switch (if you have one).
To run my front A/C from the generator, the following conditions must exist:
- The generator must be running and producing power
- The breaker at the generator must not be tripped
- the cord must be free of corrosion and plugged into the internal 30-amp outlet...I have no transfer switch
- the breaker at the electrical box just below my fridge must not be tripped
- the air conditioner selection switch must pointing switched to use the front A/C
- the A/C must be turned on.
Any one of these 6 things goes wrong and you'll have no air. I've experience every one of the six failures, so don't beat yourself up if you find it to be the case.
As a side note: I've since upgraded my rig with a separate 20-amp cord so that I don't need to choose between the front or the back A/C.
