Samsung front loading washer WF-J1254 (stick house type)

DW convinced me to purchase and install the above noted appliance about 5 yrs. ago. It's been fine until last month - it started leaking; i.e. from somewhere underneath. The owners manual and on-line 'faq' page(s) are no help. As this unit is one, heavy "mother" and hard to relocate my hope is some reader can direct me to where this leak may be coming from?

Again, it's a Samsung (model No. WF-J1254) front load laundry washer / approx. 5 yrs. old. Works great but leaks!!

Problem fixed. It turned out to be the drain tube (small nipple on side of pump) next to the filter at the bottom front was disconnected. After 3 attempts - I finally managed to reconnect the tube and all is well with the world. Thanks all for you input. BB

Not related to leakage, however have you had any odor issues with the front loader?

While I am not familiar with that particular model, I do have some experience on front load washers.
You are not very specific on where the unit is leaking, front, back, or underneath.
If it is not something obvious, like the flex hoses, the first thing I would check is the door seal/diaphragm. This seals the front of the wash drum to the front of the machine and also seals to the door. This is a common area these machines leak. Sometimes its as simple as lint buildup on the glass door or seal area. Sometimes the diaphragm or bellows part of the seal can get punctured by a foreign object like a pen or screw left in a pocket.

If this proves not to be the problem, removal of the panel and closer inspection should reveal the problem. There are internal tubes and hoses that go from the fill valve to the drum and from the drum to the drain pump and from the drain pump out of the machine.

from the pump or water valve area there are some small rubber hoses up there replaced many when in the business. 3 screws on the back of the washer lid tilt forward pull the screws push the top to the rear and take a look

Ours has a trap door at the bottom front for servicing a filter. There is a hose with a plug in the end to drain it. I would start there as it is easy to get to.

Lots of possibilities, unfortunately. Checking the hoses is a great first step.

On many washers you can remove the outer shell comparatively easily with a few screws/bolts and only limited access to the back. I have no idea if yours is that way. I don know that I did far more disassembly work than was actually needed to replace a motor coupler in my washer, which I found out after I had the thing in pieces and was googling the part I needed. That said, it's back together now and operates properly, so it wasn't a fruitless exercise.

Not sure about the location of the leak but the easiest thing to check are the hoses from the water supply and the shutoff valves that the hoses connect to that should be available from the rear.
Suggest you may not to risk injury to yourself to avoid having a `pro' take a look.
