shurflo 2088 rebuild questions

I replaced my water pump about 9 years ago because it was not holding a head pressure and cycling often enough at night to be bothersome. I kept the old one for an emergency spare. I now want to use it as a transfer pump for 6 gallon jugs to RV. The jugs are getting heavier each year. We dry camp all of the time.

I rigged it up using plastic tubing and it didn't seem to work well. Not much flow or pressure. Good voltage, right off the battery bank. I took it apart and the pieces are all intact and show no visible damage, wear, tears etc. Did those of you who have had to rebuild do so for visible damage? It sat unused for a very long time and perhaps some parts have hardened? Point is I don't know which parts to replace. If the whole front end assembly, I will just look at new pump alternatives. Sorry for the lengthy post. Thanks, Bill

Usually just taking it apart and rinsing off the pieces will restore flow.
Any tiny piece of debris can dramatically effect it.
