Slide awning lock

Hi,
Wondering if anyone else has the type of slide awning lock I have (see picture). It worked great until a truck wash did something to it. Now it doesn’t stay in either the locked or unlocked position as it used to. There must have been a spring that has now gone missing, but I’m not sure how it was attached or what type it was.

If anyone has a. Picture of this type of device on your RV that shows the spring, I’d appreciate seeing it so I can figure out how to rebuild this. Or even better, if someone can tell me where I can get a replacement or something similar, that would be even better.

Thanks for any ideas

That white one is junk. I installed 3 on different trailers and on all, each time awning rolled up the hole wound up in a different spot leaving lock useless.

So that's what those mystery holes are for on mine!
Cant really help but mine never had that part and seems to be fine without it.

BTW, this is the cheapest slide topper money can't even buy. It is only available to the RV manufacturing market. You or I cannot buy it or get parts for it.
If you check Carefree's site, they don't even list this garbage model. The cheapest model they sell is far superior to it.

Had this on our last trailer (manual awning). Worked great.
