Slide out not closing properly

I have done a search and can't find the answer to this.

I have a '04 Carriage Compass 30RLS. My problem is this: when the slide closes there is a gap of about 3/4" at the bottom. The top closes tight, but not the bottom. When open, the slide seals all the way around. I have checked the manual and it does not tell me which brand of slide mechanism I have. After taking a close look at the whole thing, it appears that a seal along the bottom, might be part of the problem. It gets squeezed between the lip of the slide and the exterior wall of the unit itself. Our local RV repair place doesn't have a replacement so I am hesitant to take off this weatherstripping.

I have a double floor in my fifth wheel. There is an access panel just behind the rear axle where I can get to the motor and the rear slide mechanism from underneath. There is no access from either inside or outside to the front half of the slide.

The slide mechanism itself is a single electric motor that operates a set of geared wheels that drive a corresponding geared track. There is a square bar connecting the front geared wheels to the rear geared wheels. I don't have any photos, although I know this would help.
