Hi All: I have a 2013 Heartland with a electric slide out which will not open. Worked a couple of weeks ago but now on a major trip across country it failed to open at first stop. motor sound like it is working but slide out fails to open. Fuses ok, breaker switch closed. Tried the manual crank and the rod can be turn by hand but will not open slide even a little bit. Checked inside and outside and nothing blocking the track. Any ideas? Jim2007 Thanks.

I might add to the above post. When replacing the shear bolt inspect the holes if there is any sign of the hole being deformed you will have issues with it shearing bolts down the line. I had to cut off and redrill the square tube and also flip end for end the drive shaft pin because my holes were deformed. I have not had a problem since. I might also note that I ordered and am using the factory shear bolts and nuts. They are the exact size needed. I would only use a bolt from a he hardware store to get by in an emergency situation.

A lot depends upon what sort of mechanism you have. Mine is a single rack and pinion ram. It came with a weak/wrong shear pin in the drive train.
That sheared. The motor would turn, and I could turn it by hand,
but the slide would not move.

Replaced the pin with a grade 3 bolt and it worked briefly, then sheared. Replaced that with a grade 5 bolt and it worked for a while, but took out the whole collar when it sheared. Ordered a whole new assembly, which came with a grade 8 bolt and it's been fine ever since.

My TT did the same thing and I went under the TT and where the rod connected to the rest of the rod, the cotter pin had broke. Put a new cotter pin in the slot and it worked .
