Slide out won't move

I went this morning to clean up the TT for our next trip. As I started to extend the slide only the back half moved. It sounds like the front half is trying but it's stuck.

It's a 2013 Coachman Apex 288BHS. I removed the cover from under the sofa and found the control box. I checked the wires and don't see any damage. I have not located the motors yet.

Any ideas on what/where to check?
  • It looks like you have a schwintec slide. These links that I posted in another thread may help. They mention not hesitating on the switch on the way out as it can put the motors out of synchronization.

First thing I would check is BATTERY VOLTAGE. I know my slide sometimes likes to have battery assist when on Shore Power only.

I had this happen one time and my battery was run down too much to help so I eased the truck up to trailer battery and jumpered it with truck start battery...

  • Thanks for the links. At least now I have a better understanding of the system. I watched the lights and the right side is dead on the display and not showing any indicators. The left shows normal operation as indicated by the slide movement.

I knew the battery would be low considering it has been sitting so I plugged the battery charger into it yesterday. As of now it shows to be ready for use.

I'll have to call Lippert customer support in the morning. At least it's still useable as it sits. Could be worse.
