Slide Seal Glue

A small section of the seal on my slide is starting to come loose. What kind of glue is best to use to reattach the seal to the frame of the opening ???

Thanks,
Doug
  • I was in the automotive trade (dealerships) for years, and the best thing for gluing any kind of rubber to metal was 3m weatherstrip adhesive.(the yellow stuff) And I still believe its the best today. Napa A (not cheap)

I agree with the quote above. I have used weather strip cement on 3 different motor homes with great success. Suggest that you clamp the strip with spring clothes pins until you get it done and can close the slide to clamp all.

+1, we used to call it "tiger snot." I used it to attach a replacement seal on the HTT we had.

  • Thanks Guys,

I had some Gorilla Glue on hand, seems to have worked fine.

  • Had a small section of mine come loose.....used Gorilla Glue. Has worked for 2 years.
  • I don't know if this will help, but I have used contact cement. I cleaned both sides with lacquer thinner, let dry, then apply the contact cement to both sides, wait until it seems dry and press together. Make sure you line it up properly cause once the two parts contact each other you are committed.
