I believe the GFI is for 120V AC? Green is ground wire for 120V AC, white is neutral
Not 30V or 24V or 12V DC coming off your solar panels, and solar charge controller unit?
On the 12V side only... white or red is for positive wiring, and black is for negative wiring.
Don't mix the 12V DC system and components up with the 120V AC system.
