Solar Idea
I would like to add solar but I try to park in the shade so a roof mount system wouldn't work. However my toad is seldom parked in the shade. Would the following idea be feasible.
I can mount 3 100 watt panels to my toads roof carrier and connect them to two agm batteries in the toad's cargo area. The batteries would also be connected through a battery isolater to the toad's charging system. Since the toad is seldom in the shade, I could keep the agm batteries in the toad charged.
At nighttime, I would connect the toad batteries to the RV via a 20 ft cable. I would install a 2 battery bank switch in the RV and at nighttime switch over to the toad battery bank. This would allow me to add 2 batteries to my bank without having to mount them someplace in the RV and thus give me 4 batteries to boondock with.
The advantages to this system is that it would be easily removed if I change toads and nothing is attached to the RV permanently. Is this idea feasible. Any help from solar experts would be appreciated. Thanks
