Solar tilt/brackets

I seem to be having a problem finding these simple mounts for a panel install.

In the few places I can find them, I don't see where they include a nice big black plastic knob as shown, or the tilt bars.

Don't people use this kind of hardware anymore?

On the other side ??,......like 1/4-20 thread stud about 3/4 long.
Its a standard stock item at Tru-Value Hwd.

And that's threaded into the panel, backed up by a threaded 1/4 x 1 flat metal pop riveted to the back side of the panel frame.
To my surprise, my 3rd panel was already 1/4" thick, so no need for the backup.
  • Not RJ, but I used Nutserts for a knob with male threads. I've also used a bolt, held in place with a nut, and used a knob with a female thread on it.

  • I've made similar ones to RJ, but used a stainless steel T hinge. Cut down the long arm to the length you want the panel off the roof, add in the hardware, and have panel tilt in any axis.
  • Like these ? I made 12 of them for my 3 panels, just finished mounting the last one couple days ago. Their not hard to make ya know, a pc of 3/16" 2 x 2 1/2 alum angle.

And the tilt bars, made them too, 1/4" x 3/4" alum flat metal
  • On edit I was actually hoping to find simple L-shape brackets for the panels instead of those linked on the Am solar site.

Anyway, those should work. Thanks much. I may wait until Quartzsite.
