I would speculate that if you are turning off the battery disconnect it may be disconnecting the solar. But that should have protected the battery.
Also, if not disconnecting the battery and just turning everything off does not. The CO detector / gas detectors which are safety devices and therefore don't have a disconnect, except removal of the fuse in the breaker/fuse box.
Charge the battery up and disconnect using the battery disconnect, if it has one. If not, disconnect the battery terminal. That should protect the battery until you get ready to use it.
