Solid electrolyte batteries?

  • Waiting for this @#$%&*! sidewalk to move :)

Probably the first authentic breakthrough news will come from the country of INDIA. That is where battery majors have their R&D labs for stuff ready to go into production.

Yeah. Toyota, that known purveyor of vaporware. :R

Because car companies only bring out stuff that's ready for prime time.

I've still got a deposit down that cool Chrysler Turbine Engine car. ;)
  • The tech writers want so bad for it to be true but so far there are no indications of a viable option.

Most if vaporware to get funding and nothing more.
  • The question to me is how long will it last. Need to go close to 200,000 miles before it degrades 20 percent to be on par with current lithium technology.

I see potential issues with a Sodium battery... But I'm not sure how serious they are.. Will be interesting to watch.
